Flourishing Fountain ~ PCS Blog Hop
Are you ready for a mini-blog hop? A few of the Paper Crafter Sampler design team members and myself have given our creative take on the exclusive birdbath template in the April 2011 issue of the sampler "Avian Art".
If you missed the blog before me be sure to jump back and check out Heidi Baks beautiful sample!
For a totally different take on the template, I've changed it from a birdbath to a fountain. A great garden party, wedding or shower center peice. Just add a cosmo glitter styrofoam eggs (or simpy round balls if you have them) and some edible pearls and you're set!
The fountain is simply twisted paper cut down and curled. A few drops of crystal effects for a water effect.
Now hop on over to Lisa Hensley's blog and check out her beautiful cteative take on the birdbath template.

Easter Floral Styro Egg
Anyone remember the egg I did in March of 2008? Well, for some reason it was much more fun back then than it was creating this:
I started the egg two weeks ago and let it go. I was stuck on what to do with it. Not really sure I like this but at least I put it to use.
What you're looking at is a half of styrofoam egg I cut in half. Using a Boho flower punch, I curled each flower around the end of a pencil (similar to the Ikebana Cross I made previously). Then using glue and lots of patience, the process of attaching began. You've got to work in stages, applying some glue to a few, letting them dry and then working on another section...otherwise they'll pop off.

Give it a try, when you have a few hours to spare, LOL.

SU Stars April Hop
This Saturday I've decided to participate in a blog hop for SU! Stars. This month's theme is anything but a card. If you've been following along then you've probably just come from Loni's blog and viewed her colorful MDS scrappage. So summery!
For my project I decided to create another birdbath. This time instead of filling it with goodies, I simply chose to add a decorative element, i.e., the doves.
I hope you enjoyed my little project. If you'd like to see the entire lineup on the hop for today, simply hop on back to the main SU Stars page to see the full line-up.
Thanks for taking the time to hop along.

The Double-Bowl Birdbath
Playing with a bonus template just released in the April issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler "Avian Art". It's a paper birdbath. You can't fill it with water of course, but it makes a great decorative base for wedding and shower decor.
Here I've filled it with edible pearl candy. Try replacing the candy with floating petals, flowers and real bird seed for a gardening theme.
In the sample below, the top bowl is raised with foam spacers to offer additional lift and dimension.

Birds on a Wire
A glimpse of a 3D project in the April Paper Crafters Sampler "Avain Art". Create your very own wire bird cage and nest! A delicate yet sturdy display.
