Pockets of Inspiration

Anyone notice the name change of my blog? Once again I am trying to restructure my stamping business with my other interests. It's taken me months to come up with this new Blog name but finally I have found one that I think suits my needs.

Why the change? Well, my original intentions of Rubbapalooza was to offer ideas and inspiration using Rubberstamps. There are times I've hesitated to post becuase it was not 'rubba' related, which is why there are so many gaps in my posting.

I've learned that it is impossbile to schedule time to create when you are a mother and work out of the house. From the time you wake up till the time you go to bed, you're obligated to others. You've got to find the in-between times, the "pockets" in your everyday living to find the things that inspire you and give you the drive to WANT to create.

Enough of this.

I just thought I'd share with you my reasoning for changing the name. My newsletter and all my stamping events will still be known as RUBBAPALOOZA. I'll still be giving updates on all my events on my Blog, just thought it was time for the change. I'll also be posting things in general that inspire 'me'. There are so many things that inspire me daily, what better place to share them than here, to give you inspiration as well. Now, on to some art.

This is something I created for Allie over at Croppinsville. Allie has had a temporary shutdown of the webstore (long story) but she is working feverishly on getting it back online. All the supplies for this peice below was created with product from Croppinsville. So, if you'd like to recreate it, give her a call.

My original goal was to just embellish the adorable hanger Allie had at the store, but what good is a hanger unless it has something to hang on it? The paper is Cosmo Cricket "Honey Pie". The stamps are from Bo Bunny "Flourish Acrylic Stamp".

Here's the full hanging. The tulle is not from Croppinsville. I originally had twill ribbon on it but I wanted a softer look. This tulle is pink and yellow.

Here's a view of the back.

The only thing not from Croppinsville are the button embellishments. On my recent trip to Fort Worth, I found a jar of buttons and dumped them in this birdbath. So many pretty buttons!

Here are some of the buttons I decided to use on the project. The plastic rhinestone will eventually sit inside the small white flower button on the left.

Here are the two buttons attached (Bottom right of photo). The yellow button embellishment is made of two buttons. The top button has this beautiful metal casing and a pearly color. I attached it to the bright yellow button with a glue dot and the entire unit sits on top of a flower punched peice of cardstock (using my Boho Flower punch).

I have no idea what these flowers are made of or who they are made from but I LOVE them! They're are made up of some kind of fibers and they glisten.

Here's a close-up of the flowers on the photo hanging. Can you see it glistening?

Another view of the flower and the "Flourish" image I stamped on the hanger.

Here is the back of the hanger with another stamp from the Bo Bunny "Flourish" stamp set. The "S" is from the Just Rite stamps Allie just received in her store. Wouldn't these be a great idea for a baby shower gift? Monogramed hangers? I'll be making some monogram cards with these soon.

That's it! Thanks for stopping by.
